The other day when I took my truck to get an oil change I realized I missed a very important anniversary a few months ago. Â My truck and I have been together for over 10 years now. I bought my truck right before I showed up for classes at Central Bible College. Â So, she and I have been through a lot together (yes, my truck is a she. Â In fact, Becky named her Lucy a few years back).
In honor of our 10 year anniversary I officially enrolled my truck in the Junky Car Club (www.junkycarclub.com/). Â Hoping my truck can hang in there a few more years, so I can save some more money by not having a car loan.
I know what you mean Pastor Jamie. “Betsy,” my green Ford Ranger for many many years had over 315,000 miles on her before she died and went to truck Heaven. I don’t know how many times she and I went cross-country. More than I can count. Just between our New England to Texas trips I think we logged at least six. It was a sad day to let her go. Here’s to wishing you and “Lucy” many more memorable and happy trails!
Your father is in the wind, thorugh the sun or the stars or moon. He changes you forever; you are a part of your Mom and Dad. Knowingly or not, he still changes the way you think, you do stuff. Right? You may think…what would my father say in this, how would he react…etc He is still around, in your heart.
